a study on rate making and required reserves determination in reinsurance market: a simulation
reinsurance is widely recognized as an important instrument in the capital management of an insurance company as well as its risk management tool. this thesis is intended to determine premium rates for different types of reinsurance policies. also, given the fact that the reinsurance coverage of every company depends upon its reserves, so different types of reserves and the method of their calc...
A Perceptual Pitch Detector
We have implemented a pitch detector based on Licklider’s “Duplex Theory” of pitch perception, and tested it on a variety of stimuli from human perceptual tests. We believe that this approach accurately models how humans perceive pitch. We show that it correctly identifies the pitch of complex harmonic and inharmonic stimuli, and that it is robust in the face of noise and phase changes. This pe...
متن کاملMulti-pitch estimation by a joint 2-d representation of pitch and pitch dynamics
Multi-pitch estimation of co-channel speech is especially challenging when the underlying pitch tracks are close in pitch value (e.g., when pitch tracks cross). Building on our previous work in [1], we demonstrate the utility of a two-dimensional (2-D) analysis method of speech for this problem by exploiting its joint representation of pitch and pitch-derivative information from distinct speake...
متن کاملNeural correlates of the pitch of complex tones. II. Pitch shift, pitch ambiguity, phase invariance, pitch circularity, rate pitch, and the dominance region for pitch.
1. The neural correlates of low pitches produced by complex tones were studied by analyzing temporal discharge patterns of auditory nerve fibers in Dial-anesthetized cats. In the previous paper it was observed that, for harmonic stimuli, the most frequent interspike interval present in the population of auditory nerve fibers always corresponded to the perceived pitch (predominant interval hypot...
